Jack Kirby's FIRST Black Panther Cover

 

Above is the 1966 cover that introduced The Black Panther to the world. A classic. An iconic Jack Kirby design.

But that was not the first cover that Mr. Kirby drew for that issue of The Fantastic Four. In a rare happenstance, the first drawing that was to serve as that cover was rejected for reasons that have not been stated. That first drawing is shown below. 

I myself prefer the published version but I believe every fan should see this first draft!
