Ragman Logo Sold!

 

The original hand-drawn 1991 Ragman title logo sold at auction last week! How much do you think it sold for?

I've been collecting original artwork for almost 50 years but I never saw a logo original for sale before. Maybe I wasn't paying attention? 

When Ragman appeared in his first series back in 1976, that comic's logo was a team design by artist/editor Joe Kubert and letterer Gaspar Saladino and Production Manager Jack Adler (and you can read all about the history of that logo on Todd Klein's blog over here). This 1991 version of the logo retained the same outline by Gaspar but with a hand-drawn rather than photographic in-fill.

The original of this 1991 re-design sold last week for almost $300. We're not talking about non-fungible tokens here; we're talking about pen-on-board. How about that!
