Jack Kirby's Leila Taylor

In 1987, Greg Theakston and his Pure Imagination published Jack Kirby's Heroes and Villains, a hardcover printing of 125 character drawings in pencil (one per page) by Mr. Kirby. Yes, I bought a copy.

In 1994, Greg Theakston returned to the well and published Jack Kirby's Heroes and Villains, Black Magic Edition. This time, the same drawings were inked by a wide variety of industry professionals. Yes, I bought a copy.

As Jack Kirby original artwork became pricier I looked for ways to buy artwork that was "almost" by Mr. Kirby. The artists who inked a page in the Black Magic Edition did not have access to the Jack Kirby original page so they light boxed their artwork.

Do you remember of Sam (The Falcon) Wilson's girlfriend in the Captain America comics? Her name was Leila Taylor.

And now, from my personal artwork collection, here is Leila Taylor with layouts by Jack Kirby, pencils and inks by Andy Smith:
