The Secret Origin of Klaus Janson
Klaus Janson is one of my all-time favorite comic book inkers!
I have been a fan of the gentleman's artwork ever since his Batman cover to TCR #109 came out in 1974, so that's a pretty long time.
Down below is a 1977 page from Daredevil #149 I used to own. The pencils by Carmine Infantino showcase that genius's familiar poses and masterful storytelling, and the inks by Mr. Janson add the perfect amount of gloss and sheen and grit. Nobody could have inked this page better!
Fast forward to the present day.
Last month saw the publication of Justice League: Dream Girls #4. Quietly nestled inside that final issue of the miniseries was an 8-page backup story entitled "Just for One Day: Heroes." Written, penciled, inked, and colored by Klaus Janson, this powerful memoir should be sought out and read by every comics fan!
